I’m writing to you to today let you in on a project I’ve been working on with the good folks at Make Music New York.
Make Music New York is a live, free musical celebration across the city that takes place each June 21 — the longest day of the year.
On that day, hundreds of public spaces throughout the five boroughs — sidewalks, parks, community gardens, and more — become impromptu stages for over 1,000 free concerts. Musicians of all ages, creeds, and musical persuasions perform for new audiences, who come out from under their headphones to hear unfamiliar groups risk-free on the first day of summer.
Want to know more? Want your band or venue to take part? Check out www.makemusicny.org for details on how to sign up and take part. The deadline to enter is APRIL 21ST, so don’t sleep on this…let’s make our voices, instruments, and music be represented at this year’s event!

Thinning the Herd, NYC’s favorite indie rock trio, will host a special “Save The Herd” sound-fest in the East Village’s Tompkins Square Park on June 13th, 2010.
The concert will showcase an all-star lineup headlined by Thinning the Herd featuring four other popular hard working bands on the NYC rock scene.
Between sets, comedians and public speakers will talk about animal rights, vegetarianism, and humane lifestyles.
This bi-annual event will serve as a forum to raise awareness of issues surrounding endangered and abused animals and promote a vegetarian lifestyle.

Here's a nice cross-section of both the good and the bad things folkshave been writing about our latest disc, ADULT SITUATIONS...(hope you got your reading eyes in!) as well as the results from awesome people who have given us airplay!

The last record from these NYC veterans, "A Guide To Better Living", was a bit too eclectic for its own good and wasn't helped much by an indifferent production. Well, while I can't say the guys are ready to storm the charts and start their own custom fashion line yet, "Adult Situations" is a big improvement over its predecessor and is better sounding and more focused as a whole. Stylistically, this is hard rock verging on heavy metal with a strong punkish vibe at times. Yeah, it's still hard to pin SOS down, but this time the tracks are beefier and thicker. Hey Everybody Happy '07! We hope that this new year has been good to you thus far. It truly has for SOS for numerous reasons, such as these: We are currently in supersonic writing mode for the next SOS audio soiree. Adam and Teddy have been switching off on drums while I've been banging on the guitar. Then Travis comes in and works his Serious Business magic and VOILA! an SOS song is born. We got a lot of songs 75% done, a few 50% done, and even a select few about 96.28% done, so needless to say we still are not out of the pre-production woods yet. However, we are happy as hell with the outcomes so far, and will continue to update you on the ever-going Meat and Cheese processing. We have a new addition to the SOS family. His name is Julio and will be sitting behind the illustrious SOS drum kit during the times Travis is unable to. More
